I drew Betty’s favorite comics couple for Valentine’s Day! A little belated, but Happy Valentine’s Day, Betty Felon!!
Nightwing gets me.
Quick Nightwing sketch as part of an art challenge with my buddy thataintmytumblr.
Sorta based on Phil Bourassa’s stuff (the guy who designed YJ, Flashpoint, and the new DC DTVs coming out soon) but I was mostly just trying to get down something quick.
The Bat-Man and Nightwing by Dan Mora

Casual reminder that Dick Grayson doesn’t put up with homophobic bullshit, and neither should you.
(Nightwing #78, 2003)
I’ve commented on this to similar effect before, but it’s worth restating when it crosses my dash again. I think Dick is up to something braver, and a hell of a lot more complicated, than standing up for an oppressed minority group. His “what if I am” is balls-out courage, because it would be just as easy to say, “hey, asshole, why do I have to be gay myself to recognize that you don’t shit all over someone for who they are?” He could just as easily have said that. Instead, IN A POLICE LOCKER ROOM, and surrounded by OTHER COPS, all of whom presumably find gay-bashing an acceptable sport to watch while sipping their coffees, he lets himself be identified with the minority. It’s a calculated move on his part, which is surely the meaning of that second-to-last panel, when he shifts his eyes to the side, quickly weighing his options here. He weighs AND REJECTS the option that says “continue to defend while maintaining your own straightness.” He rejects the option that says “do the right thing, but don’t destroy your career over it.” He rejects the option that says, “speak out, but don’t burn your bridges with the men who will hold your life in their hands out in the field.” Because he is Dick Grayson, he takes that leap into the air, he risks just that little bit more of himself, and he never looks to see if there’s a net. Because he knows that the single most powerful defense is not impassioned rhetoric; it is impassioned identification, and he allows that identification to happen. He allows it to happen, knowing that he is painting a target on himself, knowing that he is now in the crosshairs of these men. He doesn’t do the right thing. He does the exceptional thing. Because he is Dick fucking Grayson, who was raised by Bruce fucking Wayne, and he will always — understand this, ALWAYS —choose the option that places himself at greatest risk if it ensures maximum safety for those in need of his protection. Those four words “what if I am?” translate to another four words: “come at me, motherfuckers.”
Dick fucking Grayson, ladies and gentlemen.
First set in the Comics Nouveau series is DONE! *whew*

Arkham City by Mike Dimayuga
These two were great and I was so happy to be given the opportunity to photograph them at our Batfam photoshoot. I’m so happy they have become part of our growing Batfam.
Welp, this is pretty much the most amazing cosplay
